How Long Will It Take to Treat My Pet?

Laser therapy treatment differs for every pet, because every pet (and condition) is different. For post-op care and the management of other acute injuries/conditions, one treatment may be all that’s needed for your pet. On the other hand, if they have a chronic disease like arthritis, they may need 2-3 treatments per week until we can gradually taper them off to one treatment a week or every other week.

If your pet does not respond favorably to laser therapy, we may need to stop their treatment altogether and consider other options. In most cases, laser therapy is an integrative therapy, which means it is used in conjunction with other types of treatment (such as medication). This multi-modal approach can ensure a better outcome for your pet.

Healing with Light Energy

Laser therapy involves applying light energy to an area of damaged tissue or swelling to help it heal from within. We use a handheld device that emits infrared light at varying frequencies; this light absorbs into the cells of the body where it stimulates cell activity and endorphin release.
